There are multiple factors which are responsible for gaining confidence in appearing exams.
I have tried to explain one most factor in this article - Goals .

Setting Goals to gain exam confidence :-

Setting Goals is extremely important factor. in fact it is essential ingredient of recipe called Success.

mind map - factors for exam success , reduce stress in exams.
Appearing Exams Effectively & Confidently :-

PART -1
·        GOALS
·        WHY GOALS ?
Goals give us a purpose for activity.  Purpose to complete a task ; a direction and secondarily a plan.
I remember one small story told to me long time back.  One man walking on the road asks one passerby “ Where does the road  go ? ” The passerby asked  “Where do you want to go ?“ first one answered “ I don’t want to go anywhere. I am just walking aimlessly.”  The second wise man answered “Then don’t ask me details.  Just keep on walking.”
This is what happens most of the times.
Because we don’t set our goals,  we just keep on walking aimlessly; or sometimes with partial goals.
These inadequate efforts lead us to inadequate results.  Hence to get optimum results we must set our goals.

Please watch the video , motivational speaker Brian Tracy is talking about goal setting more specific ways.

·        THEN WHY WE DON’T SET GOALS ?
Many times people are scared of failing to achieve their goals.
They feel their failure in achieving those goals are  TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Hence they feel it is better to keep on walking; rather than setting goals.
Many times people don’t look into their life or their subject of study in long term manner.
They feeL overwhelmed sometimes.
Hence they avoid setting goals.

·        HOW GOAL SETTING HELPS ?
Once we set goals, we start planning to achieve those goals.
This makes us more organised. Our brain starts working in a more synchronous Manner.  Simply, our mind and brain start working in harmony.
We start getting sense of time. We realise how much time is in our hands and how far is our goal.
This motivates us to achieve the goals more effectively.

·        WHAT IF WE FAIL ACHIEVING OUR GOALS?
Failing to achieve your goals is actually a misconcept.
Because; once you set your goal; most of the achievement is already attained.
You are now starting with your own plan.  Many times it is possible that you may not be able to achieve that goal in the planned time period.  BUT
With a goal-set and a plan you will surely REACH SOMEWHERE .
Where as without a goal you will reach to very very sub-optimal level; that means you don’t reach to the utmost capacity of yours.
HENCE SETTING A GOAL IS ALWAYS PREFERABLE AS COMPARED TO NOT SETTING A GOAL.
·        WHAT IF WE MISS THE GOAL / FAIL TO ACHIEVE THE GOAL  ?
It is not a really big problem.  If you fail to achieve the goal; you have to
RESET THE GOAL AGAIN.

Now you should learn from your past mistakes and possible reasons why  you could not succeed as per plan.
If you avoid or correct those errors definitely possibilities of succeeding in next attempt increase.

·        GOALS CAUSE TENSION IN LIFE ?
Actually not setting goals causes more stress in life if you compare it with
Struggle you do to set and achieve goals in life.
While goals are not set; mind is pretty unclear, where he or she is leading to.  Mind with unclear picture about your own future causes more distress.
SETTING GOALS IS LIKE OPENNING ONE’S EYES WHO IS PRETENDING TO BE FAST ASLEEP.
Sometimes if a person has not set goals since longtime; or not put APPROPRIATE EFFORTS since long time may find it very stressful to
SEE THE REALITY CLEARLY.
But it is always better to get stressed up seeing the reality as compared to the stress generated due to unclear mind.

BECAUSE NOW THERE IS POSSIBILITY OF IMPROVEMENT.
DOES FAILING IN THE GOALS MEAN I AM AN ‘USELESS PERSON’; ‘FAILURE’ IN MY LIFE ?
Answer is big NO.
It just means; somehow you could not perform that particular task, UPTO THE SET MARK.
If you are not able to achieve a goal that does not mean you can not achieve the same goal or similar goals in future.
Also it does not mean you can not become successful in other fields.
If you put your adequate efforts in a particular field there are very high possibilities that you get good results.
Even if you don’t get adequate results in any field; even after putting all efforts; that does not mean YOU ARE A FAILURE.
It simply means you should start again or try something else.
ACTUALLY SETTING GOALS AND PUTTING EFFORTS TO ACHIEVE GOALS ITSELF IS SUCCESS.
If you are doing this you are successful.  In long run this pattern of thinking only helps person LIVE A HEALTHY AND HAPPY LIFE.
